REQUIREMENTS

What you’ll do at AlignStar:

  • Respond to user inquiries regarding the capabilities of software.
  • Provide technical assistance to end users on the use of software to accomplish a particular task.
  • Conduct both custom and open-enrollment training classes for groups of people with varying skill levels.
  • Design and improve processes and procedures for the creation, maintenance and updating of various cartographic data sets.
  • Prepare training materials and curriculum for the instruction of end users in the proper use of various software products.
  • Test new software releases to ensure that they function correctly. Establish testing plans and procedures and carry out product testing in accordance with accepted procedures.
  • Maintain logs and databases of reported issues, customer installations, shipping records and other activities.
  • Write and maintain installation scripts for various software products.
  • Maintain technical support web pages including FAQs, technical notes and downloads.
  • Install and maintain computer hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives.
  • Load specified software packages such as operating systems, word processing, or spreadsheet programs onto computers.
  • Respond to client inquiries concerning software operation and diagnoses software problems.

  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Ability to read, analyze, discuss and interpret common geographic problems relating to sales and marketing applications. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, and to make recommendations on how to best solve problems using the software.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as indices, equations and various statistical analyses. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, thematic analysis and geographical distribution of various types of data.
  • Ability to define problems, interpret data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of all recent Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel. Powerpoint and Access; GIS software; graphics editing software; and other database software.
  • To perform job duties successfully, an individual will be required to travel to client sites to support or train customers. Travel via automobile and airplane is expected depending on the distance and timeframe of the trip. Travel plans will frequently necessitate working outside the confines of the traditional work day. A valid driver’s license and passport are required.

REQUIREMENTS

This position entails being tasked with general office management and bookkeeping for the Company. The position will act as a key interface with our Professional Employer Organization (PEO) and other departments within the Company. Responsibilities include AR and AP as well as various balance sheet and income statement account analyses, including but not limited to: employee compensation and benefits and software subscription accruals. This position will also assist with the review of ARR and MRR and in the preparation of monthly and quarterly analyses.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a key interface for the Company’s PEO for all HR related items including benefits, payroll, 401K, etc.
  • Prepare and submit semi-monthly payroll, commissions and PTO accruals.
  • Work on various balance sheet, income statement, MRR and ARR account analyses.
  • As part of the monthly accounting close, prepare journal entries (including but not limited to: payroll, commission, bonus and PTO accruals), reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure financial statements are complete, accurate and in compliance with GAAP.
  • Assist in preparation of schedules, analysis and financial results narratives for external auditors.
  • Identify process improvements in month-end close process.
  • Document policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Work with various outside vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of relevant bookkeeping experience
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and consistency in both preparing and reviewing work.
  • Positive and professional demeanor
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently; be flexible, self-motivated and proactive.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to seek out additional tasks as time allows and assume additional responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative skills and accounting research skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Quickbooks Pro for general ledger accounting.
  • SaasOptics experience is a plus.
